3500 Hectares
100% Ownership
The Big Kidd Project is located in the Nicola Mining Division of British Columbia immediately north and east of Aspen Grove, approximately 30 KM southwest of the City of Merritt and 60 KM north of the town of Princeton. The Company acquired a 100% interest in the 136 mineral claims comprising the property, under three separate Option Agreements. The Company now holds unencumbered title to the mineral claims comprising the property.
In January 2004, Christopher James Gold Corp. acquired, by staking, an additional 900 hectares on the southern boundary of its Big Kidd property. With this addition, Christopher James Gold Corp.'s Big Kidd property now consists of 141 units (totaling 11 titles) comprising approximately 3500 hectares.
Approximately $2,000,000 has been expended upon exploration of the Big Kidd Property, including $548,456 by the Company. A significant information profile has been built. The potential of the Big Kidd Project lies in its capability of hosting one or more alkaline porphyry gold-copper deposits. A three-phase exploration program conducted between 1996 and 1998 produced encouraging gold-copper intersections in several areas. In 1999, a corporate decision was made to concentrate exploration efforts on the North Breccia Target. Based upon previous results in this area at the northern edge of the Big Kidd Breccia pipe, this target had the best potential for bulk tonnage gold (copper) zones. A staged drilling program undertaken to test the north Breccia target area in 1999 was designed to evaluate the geometry of the gold zone(s) and grade distribution in this area. Systematic diamond drilling involved regularly spaced holes at 40 to 70 M pierce points along strike and up and down dip. The 1999 drill program on the North Breccia Target met the Company's objectives, identifying numerous gold (copper) zones.
In July, 2003, the Company conducted a further drill program on the North Breccia Target with the objective of more thoroughly evaluating the geometry of the mineralized zones. The ten drill hole program and associated trenching program in the brecciated zone was supervised and overseen by Rudy Durfeld, P. Geologist.
Following evaluation and assessment of all data the following conclusions were reached:
- The strongest gold and copper mineralization occurs within the Big Kidd Breccia and its contact zones with country rocks;
- The Big Kidd Breccia has outward dipping contacts on the north and west;
- Mineralization in all sections is open at depth;
- A richer gold and copper zone is enveloped by lower grade copper mineralization; and
- Excellent targets for future exploration have been identified.
This location on the Big Kidd property has some interesting history. Formerly known as the Big Sioux, it was near the sight of previous mining activity evidenced by abandoned shafts and adits from which bulk material was extracted. In 1918, 48 tons of material from this site was shipped to Tacoma, Washington, for smelting. Dr. Victor Preto, PhD., P. Geo., cites in Bulletin 69, written in 1979, that smelter records for the material yielded 12% Cu; 0.57 g/t Au and 68.0 g/t Ag.
2003 site work and data re-analysis enabled the Company to identify this location as a new target for future exploration. |
